I went with spaghetti but spaghettini, and linguine are great too.<\/li><li>Bell Peppers: Yellow peppers are perfect for this recipe. It's important to choose fresh peppers<\/li><li>Cherry Tomatoes: grapes work well too. They are juicy and flavorful as well.<\/li><li><strong>Capers: <\/strong>add flavor to the dish, choose quality salted capers<\/li><li><strong>Anchovies:<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Basil:<\/strong> fresh is best<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>See recipe card for quantities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"instructions\"   ><strong>Instructions<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Cut the peppers in half, length-ways, discard the stalks and seeds, then cut in thin slices and, finally, into small pieces. Soak them in cold water to make them more digestible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wash the capers under running water<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Peel and finely slice the onion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a large saucepan, heat the oil, add the anchovies and, with the help of a fork, melt them in the oil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add the onion and cook on low heat for 5 minutes, then add the drained peppers, the chili pepper and the capers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cover and cook for about 20 minutes until tender, stirring occasionally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the time, put half the peppers in a blender, reduce them to a puree and pour it back into the pan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-style-default\"><img width=\"1200\" height=\"1500\" src=\"https:\/\/pastafantasy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Process-1-Spaghetti-with-Peppers.jpg\" alt=\"Process - Choose brown pasta if you want a healthier solution, brown rice has more nutrients and is more satisfying <\/li><li><strong>Cherry Tomatoes<\/strong> - grape tomatoes also work<\/li><li><strong>Capers<\/strong> - capers can be replaced with black olives<\/li><li><strong>Spicy<\/strong> - add chili pepper flakes or some spicy oil to imbue heat into the dish<\/li><li><strong>Anchovies -<\/strong> I prefer anchovies fillets but feel free to use anchovy paste<\/li><li><strong>Basil<\/strong> <strong>-<\/strong> use fresh basil leaves<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"what-to-serve-with-it\"   >What to serve with it?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For  a healthy lunch, you can serve on its own or you can add a very simple salad for a bit of freshness like my <a href=\"\/salad-withnbspblackberries-tuna-and-walnuts\/\">Salad with Blackberries, Tuna, and Walnuts<\/a>                            You can enjoy it with a chocolaty cake like <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pastafantasy.com\/chocolate-and-strawberries-cake-xes9d\/\">Double Chocolate and Strawberries Cake<\/a><\/strong> or a comforting Italian <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pastafantasy.com\/tiramisu\/\">Tiramis\u00f9<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"storage\"   >Storage<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for the day after.&nbsp;Do not keep longer than 2 days and preferably eat it at room temperature.
